At the heart of doxo’s consumer and business product and platform is data. The volume of data spanning doxo user activity, payment histories, growing provider directory, and financial and transactional data is immense.


doxo has been evolving its data architecture and core services along with the consumer and business platforms, and in the last year has implemented the core phases of a logical data warehouse. As we work to evolve and enhance that core data architecture, we are seeking to grow our data platform and services team through the addition of data governance and management to drive efficient and effective use of the data platform, services, and related processes and operations.


Job Summary:  

The Product Manager - Data Governance & Management will own and execute the strategy, roadmap, process, operations and documentation related to data governance & data management.  This role will lead and manage all data governance activities and is responsible for improving the quality and integrity of sensitive data and information assets. The position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices.


This role serves as the primary point of contact and escalation for data governance, data quality and integrity issues and will work closely with business and functional area leadership to improve the quality, availability and value of core data assets and support the strategic requirements of the organization.


doxo is a maturing organization so at the current time this role also will also serve as a key participant in analytics activities closely associated with the data governance and management function until we scale to a point where creating more specialization of these functions is possible, likely within the next year, creating additional growth opportunities for those in the data platform & services team as we grow.


Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Establish and manage a data governance roadmap including strategic priorities for development of a canonical inventory of data assets, data dictionary, process flows, and other operational assets and policies to ensure quality, integrity, and extensibility of doxo data.
  • Manage data governance programs and operations spanning master data management, reference/metadata management, data quality, data lineage, data catalog, business glossary, and other data assets & artifacts.
  • Operationalize governance processes for creation/change of data, to define business rules, and to implement and improve data standards, quality, integrity, and consistency, including improvements to operational behavior, policies and standards, principles, and recommendations for supporting tools.
  • Serve as a liaison between product, business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure that data related requirements are clearly defined, communicated and well understood as part of prioritization, planning, and product design.
  • Participate in critical analytics activities directly related to the data definitions and assets you help to create, serving as the authority on which data assets are the best positioned to answer key strategic business questions.
  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality & integrity standards and drive processes to encourage adoption across the company
  • Create and implement a master data management strategy to ensure data standardization, quality, governance and provide a single source-of-truth for all business domains / verticals.
  • Own and serve as primary administrator for our web analytics tools to validate, audit, and ensure definitions are published for the canonical inventory of events.


Education, Qualifications, and Skills:  

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or Information Technology or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Master Data Management (MDM), Data Governance, and Data Quality domains, and MDM tools.
  • 3+ years experience with data transformation and analysis tools and languages including SQL, R, and Python
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools like Google Analytics and Heap Analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience telling a story with data and sharing the output of your work with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated experience applying statistical data analysis to real-world problems
  • Demonstrated experience managing numerous cross-functional projects concurrently & strategically
  • Effective verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and interaction skills, including ability to effectively communicate technical and non-technical issues and concepts to multiple organization levels and executive management.
